For some piers with sections of aseismic reinforcement using continuous fiber sheets, it has been observed that the fiber has become exposed to the outside several years after construction due to defects, such as flaking and cracking, caused by rainwater and freeze-thaw action.
So that continuous fiber sheets applied as aseismic reinforcement can maintain their effectiveness for long periods of time, this study aims to estimate the causes of exfoliation of surface protection structures, to suggest suitable materials and methods for construction work control that prevent the exfoliation of surface protection structures, and to suggest a rational inspection method for bridges.
